If, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words then the Noosa Museum’s collection of historical photographs brings with it a pictorial encyclopaedia. Housed in the museum is an outstanding pictorial record that gives a revealing insight ion into the life and work of residents throughout the district before and after the establishment of Noosa Shire in 1910. They illustrate how the region progressed from the beginning of European settlement and a wilderness with isolated pockets of Indigenous population to the tourist and developmental powerhouse of recent times.

Copies of photographs are available for purchase simply by contacting the Noosa Shire Museum
