For those of you who have never visited us, the Noosa Museum situated in Pomona has a vast and varied collection from the past.
The Museum was founded by the Cooroora Historical Society in 1985 mainly as a means to preserve what was rapidly disappearing of the past.
The Museum houses an extensive and impressive collection of photographs capturing many moments of our pioneering past as well as modern moments that will one day be an important part of local history. We also have a library of books about the Noosa Shire & newspapers dating back to the early 20th century. Visitors are welcome to look through the library, photographs and our historical records. Please note that fees are payable for photocopying and for any research work undertaken by museum staff.

Our latest curated exhibit in Room E is open to the public, showcasing the museum's tourism collection. We have a range of interesting objects, tourism promotional material, photographs and tourism memorabilia to see and enjoy.
Our in house discussions and planning have begun for organising the Noosa Shire Museum Annual HERITAGE DAY for late April or early May as part of the Australian Heritage Festival 2019 .

A precious collection of Noosa and regional history and research has been donated to our library by Mrs Ruth Adams, as records and material accumulated by Ruth and her later husband , author Rod Adams, for several published books they produced plus additional heritage material.
************ Mrs Rosemary Burrows has provided our WWi records with a very creditable 43 pages A4 entitled "Cooroy and District Fallen 1916", which was used in Federal Hall for the 2018 WWi Armistice Day Event. ************ Thank you for these donations.
